Is a Facebook page enough for my campground?

No. A Facebook page is a good place to post updates and photos, but it cannot take a booking, it does not show up properly when campers search Google for a place to stay, and you do not own it. Meta can change its reach, its layout, or its rules any time, and your page is built on that land. You need a website you own, with your rates and online booking on it, and the Facebook page works best as a feeder into it.

RV park office, booking engine, and outdoor stay visibility

What Facebook cannot do for you

Take a reservation. Campers ready to book tonight will not message a page and wait. They book the park whose site lets them finish in two minutes, or they book on an OTA and you pay the commission or the guest pays the booking fee.

Rank for the searches that fill parks. "RV park near [your town]" is a Google search, and Google sends that guest to websites and Google Business Profiles. A Facebook page is a weak answer to that search, and it is getting weaker as AI answers pull from real websites.

Be found by people not on Facebook. A large share of your guests, including plenty of full-timers, barely use it. Your park should not be invisible to them.

What Facebook is genuinely good at

Community, repeat guests, event posts, and photos that make people want to come back. Keep the page. Post the sunset. Just point all of it at a website that can actually take the booking, and keep your Google Business Profile current, because that is where the searching happens.

The cheap way to fix it

A real website for a small campground is a one-time build, generally under $1,000 at Magrify, owned outright, with booking on it. That plus the Facebook page you already have is the whole setup, and it is the setup your competitors with full calendars are running.
