How to Get More Google Reviews for Your RV Park

Reviews are the closest thing to a cheat code in local SEO. They directly influence Google Maps rankings, and they're the first thing travelers check before booking. Here's a system that works.

Ask at the right moment

The best time to ask is at checkout, when the stay is fresh and the guest is happy. Not in a follow-up email three weeks later.

The script: "Glad you enjoyed your stay! Google reviews help travelers find us — would you mind leaving one? It takes about 30 seconds." Then hand them a card with a QR code linking directly to your review page.

Make it frictionless

Respond to every review

Positive reviews: thank them by name, mention something specific from their stay. "Thanks, Sarah! Glad the kids loved the pool." This shows future guests you're engaged.

Negative reviews: respond within 24 hours. Acknowledge the issue, explain what you're doing about it, invite them back. Future guests judge you more by your response than by the complaint.

Never: argue, get defensive, or offer compensation publicly. Take disputes offline.

Frequently asked questions

How many Google reviews does an RV park need?

There's no magic number, but parks with 50+ recent reviews with a 4.5+ average consistently outperform competitors in the map pack. More important than total count: recency. Ten reviews this month beat a hundred from 2021.

Should I offer discounts for reviews?

No. Paying for reviews violates Google's policy and can get reviews removed or your profile penalized. Ask genuinely, make it easy, and the reviews come.
